Student Engagement Coordinator
Position Key Responsibilities:
● Organizing and managing student programs, events, and initiatives aimed at
increasing student engagement and involvement.
● Collaborating with school staff, faculty, and administration to promote student
involvement in extracurricular activities, clubs, and leadership opportunities.
● Supporting students' academic success by identifying and providing targeted
interventions for students at risk of falling behind or disengaging.
● Working closely with counselors and academic staff to develop and implement
strategies for student retention and success, including one-on-one mentoring, tutoring
programs, and academic workshops.
● Assisting with the creation and execution of individualized action plans for at-risk
students, tracking progress and adjusting support strategies as needed.
● Providing emotional and social support to students, connecting them with appropriate
resources such as counseling services, peer support groups, or community-based
programs.
● Promoting a positive school culture by encouraging inclusive participation and
fostering a welcoming environment for all students.
● Assisting in the preparation and analysis of reports, data, and documentation on
student engagement, academic progress, and the effectiveness of intervention
programs.
● Acting as a liaison between students, families, and the school to ensure open
communication and collaboration on student success.
● Supporting the coordination of peer mentoring programs, leadership development
activities, and student-led initiatives.
● Engaging with external partners and community organizations to expand opportunities
for student involvement and support services.
Minimum Qualifications:
● At least 1 year of a completed Bachelor's degree or a fully completed degree.
● Actively pursuing completion of post-secondary education with demonstrated
academic progress.
● Experience working with diverse student populations, including at-risk students, with a
focus on fostering student growth and success.
● Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to
effectively engage and support students from various backgrounds.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced,
dynamic school environment.
● Proficiency in Google applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.), as well as other
relevant technology tools for communication, project management, and reporting.
● Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and maintain
attention to detail.

Vilas School District sits close to the Comanche National Grasslands which hosts numerous recreational activities. The district stands along the shortest highway in Colorado, Highway 100. Our district is small but passionate for student success with more than 80 students in preschool-12th grade. Our district has a long-standing reputation of caring for students with a history starting in 1929. Vilas School District RE-5 is growing to align with student goal success, grounded in STEM, project-based learning, and whole-child education.
